The Komodo journal: dated notes and news from the Vinca desk

This journal carries dated notes from the desk and news that can change a Komodo trip: port closures, park fee changes, visitor quotas and season shifts. Each post shows what we checked and when. We publish when something changes a plan, not on a schedule, so some weeks have nothing.
Notes from the desk
Notes are short and practical: what the sea was doing at Padar in a given month, how a park rule works in practice, what changed in a cabin or on a route. Each carries a date and the name of the person at the desk who wrote it.
If a note is out of date, the date tells you. Check it against the fit check and the rate card before you act on it. The rate card carries its own update date, and the journal never overrides it.
New notes appear in the list below, newest first. If the list is short, that is the honest state of the desk: we write when we have seen or checked something, and a quiet month stays quiet.
A note can be as small as the Padar sunrise moving from 06:18 in July to 05:31 in November.

News that can change a booking
News here means a fact outside our control that moves a trip: a harbour closure, a new visitor cap, a change to the park ticket, a new port rule. We link the source, say how reliable it looks and say what it means for a booking on Vinca.
When the authorities announce something without an effective date, we say that, and we do not print the new figure as fact. The park fees page and the first-time page carry the standing facts. This section carries what moved.
The test for inclusion is simple: would a guest with a booking on a specific date act differently after reading it? A closure in the window, a changed ticket rule and a new cap pass the test. A general piece of praise for the islands does not.
How we write and correct these posts
We publish only when we have something checked: a date, a source and a consequence for a booking. We do not publish lists of things to do to fill a calendar, and we do not rewrite other sites' pages.
When a fact changes, we change the post and show the new checked date, rather than leaving an old figure standing. If you spot an error, write to the desk at sales@vincacruisekomodo.com. The deposit is 50 percent and the balance is due 30 days before sailing, so a wrong date costs money, and we would rather hear about it.
