Vinca Deluxe Phinisi
Komodo 3 days 2 nights aboard Vinca, hour by hour
Updated 10 October 2026
The 3D2N on Vinca takes in Sebayur, Manta Point and Taka Makassar on day one, then Padar at sunrise, Komodo and the bats at Kalong on day two. Day three is Kelor, and you're home between 11:00 and 12:00. It's the only route sold both as an open trip and as a charter.
Day one: Sebayur, Manta Point and Taka Makassar
Pickup is at 09:30 from your hotel or the airport. The first crossing, 90 to 120 minutes out to Sebayur, is the longest of the day, and you snorkel there before lunch. In the afternoon you reach Manta Point, where boats don't anchor; instead, snorkellers drift along the reef with the current. Mantas are common there, but never guaranteed. After that comes Taka Makassar, a crescent of sand that appears at low tide.
Those last two stops can swap with the tide, and the captain decides on the day. Dinner is on board, and we'd advise a motion tablet before the night crossing. That run, from Taka Makassar to Padar, is an estimated 2 to 3 hours, and the legs table labels it as an estimate.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.
Day two: the big one
Day two is the busy one. You head ashore on Padar with a headtorch about 65 minutes before sunrise, which comes around 06:18 in July and 05:31 in November. After breakfast you snorkel or paddleboard at Long Beach, the brochure's name for Pink Beach, and then it's lunch on board.
The afternoon brings the Komodo trek with a ranger, a walk on Pimpe Island, a snack and then the bats at Kalong at dusk. The flying foxes leave the mangroves about 15 minutes after sunset, and you watch them from the boat. Then it's dinner.
That's five stops and a sunrise climb in a single day, with legs of 30 to 90 minutes between them where we have times. Bring the camera for the bats, with a long lens if you have one, and charge it before the day begins. If that sounds like a lot, it's exactly why the 4D3N exists.
Day three: a slow morning at Kelor
After breakfast on board, the morning at Kelor is yours: climb the short, steep hill to the viewpoint over the bay, swim, paddleboard or stretch out on a bean bag on the sundeck. The run back to Labuan Bajo takes 50 to 70 minutes, a leg we've verified, and you're dropped off between 11:00 and 12:00.
Book a flight that leaves after 14:00. Anything earlier means cutting Kelor short, and the last morning is the one part of the trip that's meant to be slow. Keep dry clothes and your passport in the soft bag until then, and put wet swimwear in a separate bag.
The legs table and route map below show every crossing, with a confidence label on each time, so you can see which are verified and which are typical.

What can change
The itinerary is a pattern, and four things can change it. The tide swaps Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Weather can knock out a stop in favour of a more sheltered one. The national park and the port authorities can close a site without notice. And the captain can shorten or reorder a day for safety.
When that happens, the fare doesn't change, and nor does the cabin you sleep in.
No boat in the park, ours included, can guarantee you a list of sites, so don't buy that promise from anyone. What we do guarantee is the 09:30 pickup, the crew, your cabin and the food.
Ask the guide each morning what's changed and why. It's usually the tide, the current or a crowded anchorage, and the guide will tell you if you ask.
Price: a cabin, or the whole boat
On the open trip, a Western or Japanese room costs IDR 8,500,000 (≈ USD 521) per person and a Balinese room IDR 6,950,000 (≈ USD 426), with the guide and photo coverage included. Departures are on Monday & Friday, and the next one leaves Monday, 12 October 2026.
Chartered, the whole boat costs IDR 100,000,000 (≈ USD 6,135) for the smallest band, IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442) for the middle band and IDR 110,000,000 (≈ USD 6,748) for the largest. Guests beyond that pay IDR 5,000,000 (≈ USD 307) each, up to 18. With ten guests it comes to IDR 10,500,000 (≈ USD 644) each.
Park fees aren't included: IDR 250,000 per foreign guest per day and IDR 50,000 per Indonesian guest, plus the ranger fee and other levies. Drone permits are extra again, as is diving, which we don't offer.

FAQ
Does the 3D2N visit Padar at sunrise or sunset?
At sunrise, on day two. You head ashore about 65 minutes beforehand, so your wake-up time depends on the month: sunrise is around 06:18 in July and 05:31 in November. The bats at Kalong get the sunset slot later the same day.
Which stop is the longest sail on the 3D2N?
The overnight crossing towards Padar, which the legs table puts at 120 to 180 minutes from Taka Makassar, or longer if the captain anchors first and sails on before dawn. In daylight the longest is the first leg, Labuan Bajo to Sebayur, at 90 to 120 minutes. The hops between day-two stops take 30 to 90 minutes, so day two is mostly spent ashore and in the water.
Is a tour guide included on the 3D2N?
It depends on the version. The open trip, from IDR 6,950,000 (≈ USD 426) per person, includes a guide plus GoPro, mirrorless and drone footage. On a private charter both are excluded and added on request, quoted separately. The Komodo park ranger is a separate fee, paid on top of the park ticket.
What if the sea is too rough for Manta Point?
On a 3D2N the captain swaps or replaces the stop. The current at Manta Point is strong, and the crew won't put guests in the water when conditions are poor. The itinerary changes for safety; the fare stays the same. If mantas are the whole reason you're coming, pick December to February or July to September, the two best windows.
Can two of us do the 3D2N for less than the open-trip rate?
No. Two guests on a charter pay IDR 50,000,000 (≈ USD 3,067) each, while a Western room on the open trip is IDR 8,500,000 (≈ USD 521) per person, so for two the open trip wins. The charter only comes out ahead at around a dozen guests, once the band price is split more ways.
